    1. Use picks that can achieve rotation
 
  Increase the ratio of the diameter D of the cutter head to the diameter d of the fixed shaft, so that the cutter teeth will automatically rotate in the gear seat during cutting, and the rotation direction of the cutter teeth will automatically sharpen the cutter tip and increase the life of the pick.
 
  2. Use thermal spraying technology to process the pick
 
  Thermal spraying is the use of a heat source to heat the sprayed material to a molten state and blow it by airflow to atomize it and spray it on the surface of the part at a high speed to form a sprayed layer. Thermal spraying technology can be deposited on the metal substrate. Ceramic coating combines the characteristics of ceramics with high temperature resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other characteristics of metal materials, such as strength and toughness, workability, electrical and thermal conductivity, etc., to obtain ideal composite coating products. It has become today's composite materials and products. An important development direction in the field of research and development.
 
 Using thermal spraying technology, a layer of high-hardness wear-resistant alloy is spray-welded on the head of the shearer's pick body. This alloy layer has a good metallurgical bond with the pick body and has the characteristics of high hardness, wear-resistant and non-brittle, and its life It is about 0.5-1.0 times higher than the traditional inlaid carbide pick, and the preparation process is simple.
 
  3. Use surfacing technology to process the pick
 
  In the pick head of the traditional inlaid carbide head, the pick head is surfacing layer by layer according to the requirements of the pick shape by using surfacing technology. The main alloying elements of the surfacing coating are W, Cr, and V, and the content of alloying elements is basically the same as that of W-series high-speed steel, and the coating is in a molten state. Therefore, the coating structure is similar to the structure of cast high-speed steel, and its structure is composed of the transformation products of bone-like eutectic ledeburite and austenite, ensuring that the coating has high hardness and wear resistance. The hardness of the coating is 660.6HV, although it is not as high as that of cemented carbide, but in contrast, the impact resistance of the coating is worse than that of cemented carbide, and it is more suitable for fields where coal seams contain gangue or faults.
